Step aboard my beloved, beautiful retro Mercedes Hymer B540 "Brown Bear" called Hymie and let yourself be enchanted during your journey. Hymie is equipped with everything you need to go off-grid or enjoy a comfortable camping experience.
This classic beauty exudes an unmistakable charm not found in a modern motorhome. While you are on the road, people wave enthusiastically and point admiringly at this eye-catcher. Thanks to the large windows you also have a beautiful view of the surroundings. And you can even take two bicycles with you for the ultimate holiday fun!
Technically, Hymie is in excellent condition considering her age. She starts super fast and you'll be on the road in no time. It drives slightly slower than modern vehicles (maximum 100 km/h), but the ideal speed is between 80-90 km/h (and slightly lower in hilly terrain). Thanks to the rear-wheel drive, Hymie conquers every hill, she even conquered the Pyrenees effortlessly in the middle of summer. The steering can be a bit heavy when stationary, but once underway it feels smooth and easy. In addition, she has an automatic transmission and cruise control is even built in for optimal comfort. I myself traveled all over Europe for 9 months last year, working and keeping my two cats company.
In the back you will find a spacious sitting area (including table, not pictured) that can be transformed into a generous double bed. In addition, there is a fold-down bed that can comfortably accommodate another 2 people.
Despite its age, Hymie still offers a touch of luxury with features such as cruise control, a reversing camera, dashboard fans, a CD player with surround sound, a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator and gas stove, a bathroom with shower and compost toilet, hot water, heating, solar panels and an awning.
The camper is ready to go on vacation! Think of kitchen utensils, cutlery, plates, cups, ramps, a full gas tank, safety vests, a first aid kit and, if desired, even bath towels and bed linen, so that at least 2 people can sleep comfortably in the camper.
On board there is a 12V circuit with a 220V converter. The refrigerator, boiler and heating work on gas. Everything stays cool while driving thanks to the 12V power supply. The geyser provides hot water in the kitchen and shower (can also be used outdoors). For colder days there is a parking heater and ring heating.
Please note the driver must be at least 27 years old and have at least 3 years of driving experience. You should be comfortable driving a larger vehicle and have a good feel for the RV's age and charm. If you're planning on going abroad with Hymie, let's discuss that before your adventure.
