MerseyNomad – 2 Berth Custom-Built Mercedes-Benz Campervan

Hi, we're Josie and Kieran from Liverpool. We built our campervan in 2021 as a lockdown project with the aim of hopefully getting out of the same 4 walls when it all blew over.
With some blood, sweat, tears (and hammerite!), we were very proud of what we achieved!
We love going away in the UK to both wild camp and stay on campsites, our favourite trip so far being the North Coast 500. We now want to be able to share our van with others.

Campervan Description

Cabin- phone mount. 3 seats with 3 point seatbelts. Please note, there is no air conditioning.

Bed- full width double foam mattress. Bedding included. The bed is slightly shorter than a standard mattress but as there is no footboard, there is no risk of your feet being restricted. The bed slides out and the mattress comes in two pieces. Flexible reading lights with USB chargers. The bed can be a little high for vertically challenged people (...Josie...), you will find a fold out step underneath the sink.

Bedding/towels- 2 towels, 2 microfibre towels and bedding included. If you don't intend on using these, please do let us know. A selection of tea towels and cleaning cloths will also be included.

Seating area- two seats with removable table.

Kitchen- sink with tap- cold water only. Double gas hob- PLEASE TURN OFF THE GAS VIA THE TANK WHEN NOT IN USE/ WHEN MOVING. Butcherblock worktop. Basic cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Salt, pepper, teabags, coffee, sugar and cooking oil spray. Food storage boxes. Omnia stovetop oven. Small bin. Basic cleaning supplies.

Fridge/freezer- 20 litre fridge/freezer. Please note this can only be a fridge OR a freezer- note both at the same time.

Power- 12V appliances only powered by solar and alternator. No hook-up or inverter for mains power/3 pin plugs (230v). All electrical items will work in the van when 'off grid'. Multiple USB sockets. 12 V car cigarette socket. Touch led spotlights. Led striplights.

Gas- gas tank to power the gas hob. PLEASE TURN OFF THE GAS VIA THE TANK WHEN NOT IN USE/ WHEN MOVING. Please note, there is no heating in the van.

Projector- small portable projector (see ViewSonic M1 mini Pocket LED Ultra-Portable Projector) and screen. To use this, you will need to plug in your own device. We would recommend that download content on your phone before your trip to use this.

Water- cold water only. Fresh water- 45 litre tank. Waste water- 23 lire tank. Please dispose responsibly. There is a solar bag shower in the van.

Toilet- chemical toilet. If you choose to use this, PLEASE CLEAN WELL BEFORE YOU RETURN THE VAN. Please dispose responsibly. Our relationship won't survive another argument about who empties this- please don't make us split up!

Storage- overhead cupboards (we generally use these for clothes). Bulkhead storage- PLEASE DO NOT PUT HEAVY ITEMS IN HERE- COATS ETC ONLY. Back of van 'garage'.

Safety- fire extinguisher, fire blanket, first aid kid and personal panic alarm.

Miscellaneous- 1 powered fan and 1 vent. Sliding door window with curtains. 2 camping chairs. Small portable BBQ.
