What If I Have to Pay for Additional Costs Due to a Booking?

You might be worried about having to pay for additional costs due to hiring out your motorhome, such as fines, cleaning costs or damage. Let’s break down what happens in this case. 

What happens if my motorhome gets damaged during a hire?

How do I settle my additional costs? 

Hold the deposit 

Go to the booking page and select to hold the deposit within 48 hours upon the return of your vehicle.

List the additional costs 

Next, clearly state any additional costs that have been incurred such as damages, cleaning fees or extra mileage fees. Make sure to list each cost separately. If you don’t know the exact costs yet, you can select the ‘costs unknown’ box. Upload all supporting documents, such as photos, invoices or proof of payment. 

Await the traveller's response 

Next, wait for the traveller's response. The hiring party has up to 5 days to accept or refute the stated additional costs. Once they accept the costs, the funds will be released to you. 

Settling a dispute

If the hiring party does not accept the additional costs, please communicate with them and try to reach an agreement. Ensure all communication is done via our platform so that all communication is recorded. If communication proves unsuccessful or you find yourself in a dispute, the Goboony Support Team can assist in the mediation process. We have experience in resolving disputes between both parties and will do our best to help you reach a solution.

What if I receive a fine caused by the traveller after the booking has been finalised? 

If you receive a fine caused by the hiring party after you’ve finalised the booking and released the deposit, please act as follows: 

  1. Pay the fine within the stipulated period to avoid any additional charges
     
  2. Contact the traveller directly to request reimbursement
     
  3. If you receive no response or the traveller refuses to pay, please contact our Support Team. They will help you further resolve the matter, providing that you can prove that you’ve contacted the traveller and given them 10 days to respond.
