1. Brecon Beacons Touring Park
This family-run campsite is located just off the A4067 at Pen-y-Cae. It’s a ten-minute drive from Henrhyd Falls, and half an hour away from Pen y Fan, making it the ideal base for your trip to the Brecon Beacons. From here, you can easily reach all of the great sights in this national park.
This is the ideal motorhome site in the Brecon Beacons for active holidaymakers, as it is surrounded by plenty of hiking and biking trails. You’ll finish your days muddy, tired, and very grateful for the hot showers available on-site. But if you’re looking for a calmer activity one day, this campsite is less than an hour away from the beaches of the Gower Peninsula.

2. Cae Glas Camping
This peaceful farm site will provide a sense of tranquillity that you’ll struggle to find elsewhere. It’s so quiet that you can hear the soft hooting of the owls after dark. Peace and quiet are prioritised at Cae Glas Camping, so visitors are asked to keep all noise down after dark. This also ensures the area is surrounded by wildlife, so it’s well worth the hushed voices!
To further boost the peaceful vibes, the site’s facilities are kept to a minimum. This is camping in the Brecon Beacons at its simplest, which is made convenient and comfortable with your motorhome. There’s a firepit on-site, and firewood can be purchased upon request, so marshmallows are always an option for dessert!
Dogs are welcome at Cae Glas Camping, so it is ideal for anyone travelling with a pup.

3. Bryn Bwch
If the Four Waterfalls are high on your list of things to do in the Brecon Beacons, then Bryn Bwch is the campsite for you. It’s located right by this incredible site and is only a 20-minute drive from the base of Pen Y Fan, which has another great waterfall.
This quiet, dog-friendly campsite has a large, well-maintained field for pups and kids to run about, which makes it one of many great dog-friendly campsites in the UK. You can have your own firepit on your pitch upon request, complete with wood to purchase from the campsite.
Bryn Bwch is a ten-minute drive away from Glynneath, which has plenty of shops to replenish your supplies. Or if you’re tired from a day of climbing, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many pubs there.

4. The Alltimate View
It’s tough to go wild camping in the Brecon Beacons nowadays, but you can recreate that experience at The Alltimate View. This smallholding offers your own personal wild camping experience, in a peaceful and remote setting.
The name comes from its position on All Hill, which offers the most incredible views across Powys Hills to the River Usk.
But don’t let this peaceful setting confuse you; this campsite is easy to reach, as it’s only a minute’s drive from the A40. You won’t believe it once you reach it! There are no sounds of traffic or other people, so you’ll feel like the only people in the whole world.
And be prepared for some unusual neighbours on-site, including the owner’s cheeky peacocks, chickens, ducks and adorable sheep. I’m sure they’ll keep to their pitch, unless food beckons them…

5. Rhydywernen Farm Camping Site
On the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, you’ll find this small, family-friendly campsite. It is ideally located for all the many exciting things to do in the Brecon Beacons, including horse riding, mountain biking, canoeing, gorge walking, hiking, and much more.
Rhydywernen Farm Camping Site offers spacious pitches backed onto woodland, with a small river beside it. You’ll soon meet the permanent residents of the site, their donkeys, who you can even help to feed and put to bed in the evenings. I would say this is for the little ones, but let’s be honest, we want to feed the donkeys too!
This site prides itself on being family-friendly, meaning no open fires, no loud music after 10.30 pm and no bad language. It’s ideal for an eco-friendly holiday with kids.

6. Newcourt Farm Campsite
We couldn’t end our list of the best campsites in the Brecon Beacons without mentioning Newcourt Farm Campsite. This small, family-run farm will quickly make you feel at home. It is situated just outside the village of Felindre, and is surrounded by endless miles of hills, woodland and unbeatable views. In Felindre, you can head to the dog-friendly and child-friendly Three Horseshoes Pub for a delicious bite to eat.
It’s considered a great spot for stargazing, perhaps even one of the top places to see the stars in the UK. And as for the daytime, you’ll find facilities nearby for gliding, horse riding, golf, watersports and fishing. You certainly won’t get bored during your stay at Newcourt Farm Campsite!
