7 Best Adult-Only Campsites in the UK

May 24, 2023 in Campsites, Tips for Travellers & United Kingdom

One thing we love about campsites is that it’s easy and safe to let the kids roam free. However, there are those in the camping community (parent or not) that crave a little ‘adult time’ when pitching up. This is where adult-only campsites come in. Basic facility campsites surrounded by nature or complete adult-only holiday parks, you can find child-free camping options to your heart’s desire in the UK. We’re here to help you sit back, relax and enjoy the peace on the best adult-only campsites in England, Wales and Scotland.

Cosawes Park (Adult Only), Cornwall

A short 15-minute drive north of Falmouth, Cosawes Park is the perfect oasis for those looking to visit popular southwest Cornwall. This adult-only campsite is centrally located, making it a good base from which to explore Cornwall's — and the country’s — most remote corner, yet it's also secluded, nestled away in an area of natural beauty. The campsite is close to the sea and local towns but sheltered from ocean gales and road noise.

Cosawes Park's practical facilities are described as ‘uncomplicated quality’, which is extensively backed by rave reviews. Especially the heated shower room is a frequent subject of praise. The campsite is open all year round to anyone over the age of eighteen, including those travelling with furry friends.

Exe Valley Caravan Site (Adult Only), Exmoor National Park

Let's move along from Cornwall to Devon, where Exe Valley Caravan Site is situated in the heart of Exmoor National Park. After being welcomed with a little refreshment at the reception of this gem of an adult-only campsite, you get to park up on the banks of the babbling river Exe as most of the campsite’s pitches run right along it. Dogs are welcome for a little bit extra on the price per night but get to frolic off-leash and even in the river in a dedicated dog exercise area.

Exe Valley Caravan Site has a little on-site shop with local products, alcoholic beverages and basic camping bits and bops. In the surrounding Exmoor National Park, you’ll find endless walking trails to explore, as well as excellent pubs with grub and pints galore.

A selling point of this site may well be the 600 yards of land along the river which is filled with brown trout and grayling, and the fact that you're allowed to (fly) fish right off the comfort of your camping chair.
